Typhoon Hato, known in the Phillipnes as Typhoon Butchoy, is an extremely powerful tropical cylone that existed from May 9 to 17, and perhaps the strongest May typhoon recorded, beating the record set by Typhoon Lola of 1986. It is also considered the worst and the strongest typhoon to hit Macau, Hong Kong and China on reliable record.
