The Pangaea hurricane season is a season during the Paleozoic and Early Mesozoic (when the Pangaea broke up). Scientists say that 500,000 tropical depressions formed between the Paleozoic era and the Early Mesozoic era, and only 29 depressions are known today, with 2 being a Hypercane.

The season features 29 depressions and storms, 27 hurricanes, 17 major hurricanes. Meteorologists named the known hurricanes by names related to the name Pangaea.

Panthalassa is the strongest known hurricane on this season, it is a hypercane that had 1-min winds of 1415 mph (2277 km/h) and 415 mbar. Tethys is the second strongest known hurricane in this season, it is also a Hypercane but is more intense than Panthalassa, and had 1 min winds of 1414 mph (2275 km/h).

The season also featured Category 10, Category 9, and Category 8 hurricanes.

Peak intensity175 km/h (110 mph) (1-min) Approximately 950 hPa (mbar)

On the Tethys Ocean on the early Pangaea days, a tropical disturbance started intensifying hours after it formed into a tropical depression. On the next day, it intensified into a Tropical Storm.

The tropical storm intensified on the next day as a Category 1 hurricane, and on the next day intensified into a Category 2 hurricane. The hurricane reached peak intensity hours later.

On the next day, the hurricane made landfall on the west coast of South China, it brought moderate rainfalls and flooding on the island. Hours later, the hurricane made landfall on Indochina, the hurricane brought a storm surge and moderate rainfalls.

The next day, the hurricane rapidly weakened to a Category 1 hurricane. Hours later, gradually weakened into a tropical storm then into a tropical depression. The hurricane's remnants emerged into the Panthalassic Ocean 2 days later.

The system lasted for 7 days and it helped on developing another storm that day.

Meteorologists named the hurricane "Pan", from the Ancient Greek word Pan which meant whole or all.
