Hurricane Chris was the third named storm, second hurricane and first major hurricane of the 2018 atlantic hurricane season. It made landfall on the U.S East Coast.

Meteorological History

A Tropical Wave off the coast of Cape Verde slowly strengthened as it headed towards the U.S mainland. It became a Tropical Storm on August 16 and was named Chris. Six hours later at 18:00 UTC on the 16th of August it became a Category One Hurricane. Due to forming in the main development area early strengthening was limited, but it became a Category Three hurricane before making landfall on the U.S East Coast. Over the next few days the storm would weaken before finally dissipating on the 22nd of August.

The track was projected a week before landfall, many people evacuated. Even though it had Major Hurricane strength, the impact was minor. Everything was repaired within 6 months.
