The following names were used for Tropical systems that attained at least tropical storm intensity within the Atlantic basin in the year 2000. This is the same list used for the 1994 Atlantic hurricane season. Names that were not assigned are marked in gray.

Retirement[]
In March 2001, the names Gilbert, Issac, Keith, Leslie and Michael were retired and will never be used again for an Atlantic hurricane name. They were replaced by Gordon, Ibrahim, Kirk, Lauren and Manny for the 2006 season respectively.
