Hurricane Ana [ ]
Category 1 hurricane (SSHWS) Duration June 10 ā June 15 Peak intensity 80 mph (130 km/h) (1-min) 981 mbar (hPa )
A tropical wave from the remnants of tropical depression 1-E upgraded to tropical depression status on June 10 about 50 miles ESE of San Miguel, Cozumel. Although sea surface temperatures were favorable for strengthening the storm, wind shear prevented any growth. Early the on June 12, about 110 miles North of Yucatan, tropical depression one was named "Ana." Late June 13, tropical storm watches were made from GutiƩrrez Zamora to Coatzacoalcos. Ana became a hurricane about 3 hours after tropical storm warnings were set up, giving a hurricane warning to the area as well. Ana weakened about 6 hours before landfall, replacing the hurricane warnings for watches. It made landfall at about 13:00 UTC on June 15 at Vega de Alatorre, Veracruz. Ana dissipated soon after.
Ana killed 2 people and caused about $3 million USD in damage

ACE is the result of a storm's winds multiplied by how long it lasted for, so storms or subtropical storms (Originally not included up until 2012) that at lasted a long time, as well as particularly strong hurricanes, have higher ACE totals. Tropical Depressions are not included in season total.
