The 4007 Atlantic hurricane season was a inactive season. Despite only 12 named storms, the season had a lot of very very strong storms. 2 storms reached Infinite Storm Status with the strongest, Lorenzo, becoming a mini black hole. The first storm, Andrea, developed on January 16, and the last of the storms, Melissa, dissipated on December 31.

After almost 2 months of inactivity, Dorian formed north of Hispaniola, rapidly intensifying before lashing Cuba. A couple of days later, a cold front unusually far south caught Dorian as it was exiting Cuba and Dorian rapidly weakened, eventually being absorbed by the cold front on July 8, almost 2 months after Cristina formed. The storm caused major damage in Cuba, which had already suffered catastrophic damage from Barry earlier in May. Dorian also caused minor damage in the Bahamas which were mostly underwater after Barry went NE of the region in May. Florida experienced some rain and wind but not much flooding compared to the apocalyptic storm surge and waves that battered Florida during Barry.
