3000 Atlantic hurricane season

Storms[]

Hurricane Adam[]

Category 3 hurricane (SSHWS)
Dennis05
DurationJune 16 – June 26
Peak intensity125 mph (205 km/h) (1-min) 943 mbar (hPa)

Adam was the first storm and Major hurricane to form in the 3000 Atlantic season.

Adam first Impacted the Dominican republic as a moderate 50 mph tropical storm before land interaction and higher shear caused it to weaken to a weak 40 mph tropical storm.

Adam rapidly strengthened to a Category-2 hurricane within only 18 hours before impacting Cuba as a 110 mph hurricane.

Whilst fluctuating in intensity between 60 mph and 105 mph, shear lessened and SSTs fluctuated between 84 and 87 °F in Adams Path.

Upon entering the gulf, Adam was entering an area of SSTs as high as 89 °F, this in return caused Adam to rapidly intensify to a 120 mph category 3 from a 70 mph storm in only 18 hours. Before peaking as a 125 mph hurricane while passing west of Tampa, Florida.

Due to decreased SSTs, to 83-85 °F, and higher shear, Adam weakened before making landfall near Mobile, Alabama as a 115 mph Category-3.

Hurricane Bertha[]

Category 1 hurricane (SSHWS)
Hurricane Marco (1996)
DurationJune 24 – June 30
Peak intensity85 mph (140 km/h) (1-min) 979 mbar (hPa)

Bertha was the Second storm of the 3000 Atlantic season.

During the early part of its life, Bertha was kept weak due to shear from Nearby Hurricane Adam.

As Adam moved inland and Weakened, Shear over and around Bertha weakened, allowing Bertha to Better Organize and Strengthen to an 85 mph hurricane as its peak intensity.

Bertha weakened but was able to make a landfall near Kingston, Jamaica as a 65 mph storm before briefly attaining a secondary peak of 75 mph, with it later dissipating over the Bahamas.

Tropical Storm Clint[]

Tropical storm (SSHWS)
Tropicalstormbonnie2004
DurationJune 29 – July 2
Peak intensity50 mph (85 km/h) (1-min) 1000 mbar (hPa)

Clint was the Third storm of the 3000 Atlantic season.

Clint was Considerably Disorganized most of its life due to shear, partially due to a weakening Tropical Cyclone Bertha.

Clint moved at a rather fast pace of 25 to 35 mph, which was a second reason for its disorganization.

After Organizing only some, Clint made a landfall South of Cedarkey, Florida at peak intensity before going extra-tropical over charlotte, North Carolina.

Hurricane Daniella[]

Category 7 hurricane
Superstorm
DurationJuly 11 – August 6
Peak intensity325 mph (525 km/h) (1-min) 768 mbar (hPa)
