The 2013 Atlantic hurricane season was another active season for the Atlantic, although not as active as the previous year. It was fairly destructive and deadly with quite a few powerful storms striking landmasses, particularly the United States. The season produced a total of 15 tropical cyclones, 8 hurricanes and 4 major hurricanes, which was considered above average. The first storm, Hurricane Andrea, formed on June 5 and was the first hurricane to strike the state of Florida since Hurricane Wilma in 2005. The final storm, Nestor, dissipated on December 7.
