The Cooper Meteorological Center (abbreviated CMC) is an active tropical cyclone monitoring center stationed in Maryland, United States. It was founded on September 30, 2017 by Cooper7579, and was originally known as the Sweeney Local Center. It has since rebranded and expanded to cover a wider area, and now monitors usercanes over the Atlantic Ocean, as well as polar cyclones that develop in the Eurasian Arctic basin. The CMC also conducts reconnaissance flights into tropical and polar cyclones using the Vostok P-8 Seal.
