The Alaska Hurricane Center (AHC) is the official tropical cyclone warning center for the far north Pacific Ocean north of 35°N, including the Gulf of Alaska, Bering Sea, Bering Strait and the Chukchi Sea. The AHC also issues advisories on extratropical cyclones that could potentially affect Alaska.

Headquarters

The AHC is located nearby to the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Anchorage, Alaska.

Systems

The first system that they monitored was the remnants of Hurricane Crissie in 2007. It made landfall near Anchorage and produced record rainfall. The second system that they monitored was Hurricane Letter in the same year. However, the forecast was for Letter to move north of 40°N, but it moved rapidly to the south, with the AHC only issuing 2 advisories on it.
