The 2018 Lizardland hurricane season was a somewhat below average Atlantic hurricane season, It produced eleven tropical cyclones, ten named storms, the fewest number since the 2002 Lizardland hurricane season, eight hurricanes and five major hurricanes. It officially began on May 1, 2018, and ended on December 31, 2018. These dates historically describe the period each year when most tropical cyclones form in the basin. But the tropical systems can form any time in the year.

Basin description[]

The Lizardland planet is a very dynamic planet with constant variations of temperature and pressure, especially in the extratropical zones, preventing the formation of tropical cyclones there, being that these usually appear near the coasts, for these provide a more stable environment and less changing, cyclones that form near the equator are considered subtropical (example:Francisco,Ibañez) and those that form in the Main Development Region are considered tropical.
