The season had 29 tropical storms, 18 hurricanes, and 9 category 3 or higher.
Alberto formed very early. On Febrary 13, 2018, a tropical disturbance was being watched. By February 16, the winds picked up from 25 mph to 30 mph. On February 17, the winds got to 40 mph, which is classified as tropical storm wind forces. Alberto went through Florida, however caused no deaths.

On February 27, 2018, a tropical disturbance was being watched from NASA. On the 28th, it became a disturbance. Then on March 1, it rapidly stengthened to a tropical storm with 60 mph winds
