The 2018 Atlantic Hurricane Season was one of the most intense seasons ever recorded. 14 storms were recorded, five of them major, and all caused damage to parts of the world.

Tropical Storm Arnold[]

On March 15, a tropical wave off the coast of Cape Verde formed. The wave was given a 20% chance of development. On March 17, the storm was upgraded to a Tropical Depression. On March 20, it was upgraded to Tropical Storm status and was named Arnold. Over the next few days, Arnold went North before making a sudden turn to the East, impacting Ireland on March 25. Arnold then dissipated over the Orkney Islands in Scotland. 2 people were killed in Galway, when their roof collapsed into the house, then fell, crushing them.

Tropical Storm Bethany[]

On March 17, a tropical wave near Mauritania formed, the storm rapidly intensified east of Cape Verde and was upgraded to a Tropical Depression, being upgraded to Tropical Storm Bethany six hours later. Bethany then turned north and was expected to then turn west, but instead slammed Portugal. No one was killed directly, but due to bad weather, a man who had suffered a heart attack could not be airlifted to the hospital and died.

Hurricane Cory[]

On April 20, a tropical wave near Western Sahara formed. This was seen as an area to watch, and a day later, it was upgraded to a Tropical Depression. From there on, it traveled to Bermuda, weakened into a remnant low, and regained strength over the Lesser Antilles. On April 30, it became Tropical Storm Cory. Cory became a Category 1. Cory would travel north. It would hit Kitty Hawk & The Outer Banks of North Carolina. 15 people were killed when a tornado was spawned in Kitty Hawk. This would be the first hurricane to hit the U.S. territory since Maria.
