The 2013 Atlantic hurricane season was an extremely active season producing 69 named storms and 32 hurricanes, which 20 of those became majors. Many of these storms were destructive and were able to cross into other basins. The costliest hurricane of the season, Humberta-Shaniqua in July 2013 caused $318 trillion of damage, beating Katrina in August 2005.
