The 1964 Atlantic hurricane season (SDTWFC What Night Have Been) features what the SDTWFC thought storms would do upon formation. The season was slightly above average in terms of named storms. 1964 also had an unusually high number of major hurricanes, barely passing 1963's number of majors, 5, with 6 storms reaching category 3 or higher. 1964 also tied 1955 for the season with most names retired as of that year, 5. This record was later surpassed by 1967 and 1969.
